We use Sedgwick English bridle leather hides for all our flat leather goods, and British-made solid brass fittings.
A strap of the required width is cut from the hide. This is cut to length and the characteristic tramlines are creased. The edges are bevelled for comfort in the hand.
The stitching holes are marked with a pricking iron, and the area to be stitched is chamfered to give a neat finish. Finally the edges are dyed and waterproofed.
We use traditional twin needle hand-stitching. This gives a strong and attractive finish.
